Thirty-two world teams will go head-to-head at the 19th Fifa World Cup in South Africa starting June 11 and running until July 11. The selection of teams, including the United States, Japan, Honduras, Italy and France, is the result of a qualification process that dates back to 2007.
The Italians are the defending champions.
This is the first time that an African nation hosts the tournament too. South Africa had beat Morocco and Egypt during the bidding process.
